Wertz, Kenny (4 February 1942–Present) Banjo player, guitarist and vocalist who started out playing clarinet and singing at church. He became involved in the San Diego music scene and performed in groups such as Avery Pitts, Les Baxter’s Balladeers, and The Shady Canyon Boys.

Kenny Wertz, Dave Ferguson, and Roland White left the group. Alan Munde and Roland White were the only members of Country Gazette in 1977, when they recorded the album "What a Way to Make a Living" on the Ridge Runner record label.

Shortly after the release Kenny Wertz told the band he want to quit. Country Gazette had released that first album and were at the begining of a big tour - the band could change Kenny's mind. On that tour around the States the band showed what they can.

But before Bernie Leadon left, he played at least one show (Record Plant in Hollywood) with new Burrito member Kenny Wertz. Kenny Wertz played with Chris Hillman in the "Scottsville Squirrel Barkers" in the early 60's and was in the new group "Country Gazette" with Byron Berline , Roger Bush & Herb Pedersen.

With Michael Clarke on drums, Al Perkins on pedal steel guitar, Kenny Wertz on acoustic guitar and banjo and spotlighting Byron Berline, three times National Fiddle Champion and Roger K Bush, acoustic bass from the Country Gazette. It's a "live" album recorded during the final Burrito tour of Eastern colleges in 1971.
