It is shown in Chapter 205 that Itadori Kaori is Kenjaku, who is also Yuuji's biological mom and Jin's second wife. Mentioning of Kaori in Chap 205. However, I just re-read chapter 143. It is implied through Yuuji's grandpa that Kaori is the first wife, who didn't have a child with Jin and passed away. And then, Kenjaku appeared.

Oct 18, 2019 · Kaori was the one girl that totally changed his life around and I would think that her death would affect Kosei a great deal. He might've come to terms with it beforehand as he knew it was going to happen eventually so when she did pass he wasn't too sad/shocked about it.

It kind of sucks how much the animators left out of the first two seasons. Most characters feel flat or randomly set in an episode when it wasn’t that way in the light novel. Oh well, animation.
