KD Jebat is a Lekiu-class guided missile frigate currently serving in the Royal Malaysian Navy and one of the major naval assets for Malaysia. Jebat serves in the 23rd Frigate Squadron of the Royal Malaysian Navy. [1]

Dinamakan sempena pahlawan legenda Melayu di zaman Kesultanan Melayu Melaka abad ke-15 iaitu Laksamana Hang Jebat. Kapal perang jenis frigat moden ini dibina oleh Yarrow Shipbuilders Ltd, Glasgow, Scotland dan dilancarkan pada 27 Mei 1995 oleh Datin Seri Dr Siti Hasmah binti Mohd Ali, isteri kepada Perdana Menteri Malaysia.

KD Jebat merupakan kapal frigat peluru berpandu Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia dan merupakan salah satu aset utama tentera laut Malaysia. Kapal ini dibina oleh Yarrow Shipbuilders UK di Glasgow (kini BAE Systems Naval Ships) dari reka bentuk FS 2000 frigat ringan.

They are the largest and most modern surface combatants of the Royal Malaysian Navy, until the Maharaja Lela -class frigates are completed. The class comprises two vessels, KD Jebat and KD Lekiu. The class is named after the second ship of the class which was launched before Jebat.
