The rifles produced by "Waffenwerke Brünn I" were coded "dot" from 1943- 1945. While the following guns recievers are dated 1944, serious consideration must be made that the late 5 digit serial number guns were actually manufactured in 1945.

10/6/20 - This is an all matching and original Nazi-issued K98 that was made in 1944 at the Waffen-Werke Brunn AG factory. Numbers matching throughout include the trigger group, barrel bands, receiver, barrel and bolt group.

Jun 30, 2021 · It has no serial number (and neither does the handguard), but it does have the "DOT" on the heal, a Heer mark and a "7" in the sling slot. It is also dated October 24, 1944 in pencil (with someone's initials) under the butt plate.

May 14, 2015 · The DOT code was discontinued after DOT44 in K98's produced for German use. The other Czech facility at Bysterika continued to use DOU code through 1945 until wars end. Nobody knows for sure, but I have my own theory. I think that at least some of the dot 1945 receivers were marked that was during the war.
