JPBX 900 "San Francisco" is an EMD F40PH-2. Reportedly: it was built in 1985 as CDTX 900, serial number 836077-1. At 3:16 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, JPBX 900 is leading train 120 onto track 5 at San Jose's Diridon station.

Caltrain 900 leads a set of Bombardier coaches through the throat tracks at Diridon. 900 is the first of Caltrains fleet of F40PH-2s, and was built by EMD in 1985. This unit and 14 others were rebuilt by Alstom in 1999 with Caterpillar HEP systems.

CalTrans transferred title to 900-919 to the JPB (Joint Powers Board) in 1992). JPB has since taken delivery of three additional units. CalTrain F40PH-2s are not equipped with dynamic braking, employing a "blended braking" option instead. CalTrans 2051-2052 were originally delivered lettered and painted for Amtrak, wearing numbers 501-502.
