The brand new E4/E5 wanting an easy promotion, as well as the E6/E7 that feel SFAB is going to get them promoted but don't want to do the DS time. No hate, hustlers gonna hustle. But I do have a problem with the next two; The NCO that doesn't want to do NCO duties anymore.

If you want to reclass for the express purpose of joining SFAB, I don’t see that being a long-term boon to your career. There are absolutely E5 11Bs in the SFAB. There is one on every maneuver team as one of the support guys - they handle the official use funds.

Aug 9, 2022 · Still new to SFAB so jury is still out but I can share what I have seen. OPTEMPO is pretty high with 1/3 of each SFAB on rotation at any given time you are either recovering from a rotation, training up for one or on rotation. This gets even tighter when they insist on sending you to CATC for two months of your six month cycle.

Aug 6, 2023 · Yeah. Sorry I didn’t specify. Depending on your MOS getting a direct hire is literally as simple as link up with the NCOIC of whatever SFAB BN shop you wanna join, talk to them, ask for it, and the rest is a packet.

Oct 5, 2023 · In general I have negative perceptions of how SFAB is run, but everyone I've known has had a positive experience. I will say the only thing to remember is that you aren't SOF and you still want to conduct yourself professionally. I still remember when 2nd SFAB was trying to make up missions for themselves in 2019 and it REALLY made them look bad.

Jun 23, 2022 · SFAB is a mixed bag but affords those who want to excel the opportunity to do so. You have access to schools that others don’t. You don’t get tagged for bullshit taskings. You get to train( the most important part to me). And as a guard guy the opportunity to augment other guard SFAB force packages is very real.

Jan 24, 2024 · I was apart of SFAB for 3 years with 1 deployment with them. I will say it was probably the best organization I’ve been apart of, solely because everything we did made sense. If you’re good at your job, physically fit and you’re looking for something more than just weekend drills , I say go for it.

May 2, 2022 · Imagine the thunder run into Baghdad being followed by a dedicated SFAB that could make contact with surrendering Iraqi Army units. Imagine them contacting local police forces and Shia communities to build security forces to maintain sectarian equity in Iraq. Imagine a dedicated staff thinking through this process rather than winging it.
