Sep 7, 2005 · I'll respectfully disagree with some of your earlier respondents: I'm a big fan of the JR Alternates. For the price (less than a buck a stick if you buy the bundle), they're unbeatable. Very well constructed, very consistent, smooth smokes. Are they as good as the real thing? Of course not. For me, they're my yard work cigars.

Oct 12, 2006 · JR's Stocking Problem Can anyone tell me what JR Cigars problems are stocking the Alternatives to the Hoyo De Monterrey. For most of the last month I have had trouble finding various sizes of the Alternative Brand to the Hoyo's.

I bought a box during JR's "12 days of christmas". I would say they're definately better after a little aging. They have a very good "mochaccino-like flavor" like the site says. Good burn time. Overall I'm satisfied with them.

Nov 9, 2006 · Maybe I just got a good batch, but these are nice cigars. Good burn, a comfortable draw and good consistency. The smoke is the mild side of medium in body, and has a slightly sweet flavor and aroma. These remind me a little bit of Puros Indios, only better IMHO. I'll be getting more. The cigars I smoked were 54 gauge and about 7 inches long.

Jul 30, 2007 · I'm not big on doing reviews, tobacco doesn't taste like "cocoa" or "nutty" or "mocha" to me, it tastes like freakin' TOBACCO. I know what I like and I really don't care what other people think of other cigars. I've never read a review and said to myself "Wow, that sounds like a cigar I'd like to try!"
