The Indiana Birding Trail offers the best birding opportunities across the state. With interactive birding maps, Indiana birdwatching sites and descriptions, birders can find up to 400 birds within the state. Located within the Mississippi Flyway, Indiana is a prime migratory zone.

The park's large reservoir and 3,900 acres of deciduous woods, ponds, mudflats, scrubs and grasslands offer year-round encounters with resident and migrant birds. You can essentially bird from anywhere within the park, but there are four notable highlights: the Ornithology Center, Coffer Dam, Ice Skating Pond, and Marina.
