Yeasu vs. Kenwood vs. Icom - RadioReference.com Forums
May 18, 2023 · Icom manuals are through, but sometimes unnecessarily verbose and complicated. What I do with the radios I use the most is decipher the user manuals + any additional materials and then create an abridged manual/cheat sheet for the settings I'll use the most. I've found this helps me learn the radio better and I end up with a handy reference.
Icom: Icom ID-52 and DMR - RadioReference.com Forums
Aug 10, 2023 · My Icom ID-52 only provided the buzz of a data signal, not unexpectedly, on the repeater output frequency, that clearly corresponded with the voice audio I was hearing on the SDS-100. So, am I correct to understand my megabuck ID-52 is compatible with the Icom D-Star system and cannot be used with a DMR repeater?

Should I Get An Icom D-Star Radio? - RadioReference.com Forums
Jan 3, 2018 · I did buy a Connect Systems CS750. I like DMR. I seems to be a very popular mode in my area. I also have a Yaesu System Fusion FT1XDR. It reminds me of APCO P25. I have never used an Icom D-Star radio. The prices seem a bit higher for Icom radios. I have heard some folks say that some repeater owners are switching from Icom D-Star to either DMR ...
Kenwood & ICOM NXDN Compatibility Issues
Dec 2, 2016 · I have all the frequency and encryption info set up in the KPG-111DN software, but I'm still having issues. When we have encryption enabled on both the ICOM and the Kenwood radios, the ICOM can see and hear the Kenwood. But when the ICOM is transmitting, the Kenwood only sees that the channel is keyed and no audio is heard.
Programming ICOM radios - RadioReference.com Forums
Jul 27, 2006 · Hi all, This question is a little off topic...has to do with a portable radio, not a scanner. I was wondering about programming ICOM radios. I am interested in an IC-F70T. Can ICOM radios be programmed from the radio itself, or can you purchase software and cables to do it yourself, or is...
Icom: Icom IC-V82 - RadioReference.com Forums
Aug 30, 2023 · If these radios are being sold as Icom radios, then they are counterfeits. Looking at the Summit Racing listings of complete 3rd member assemblies, I see Currie, Moser, Speedmaster, and Strange 9-inch assemblies, but nothing sold …
Kenwood or Icom - RadioReference.com Forums
Apr 11, 2021 · In the VHF/UHF category, I prefer Kenwood (or Yaesu) over Icom. Somehow, I've never cared for the Icom menu functionality and I find the other brands to be more intuitive. On the other hand, I prefer Icom rigs for HF. Go figure. The Kenwood TM-281 is a good rig and the front-firing speaker works well.
Heil Sound Headphones worth it? - RadioReference.com Forums
Jan 9, 2025 · I've been using Heil Pro Set (sometimes referred to as Pro Set 6) with Icom radios for more than 10 years. The thing I like about Heil's equipment is that it's fairly easy to configure and works reasonably well. Could you cobble something together at a lower price? Yeah, maybe. But, Heil stuff just works. And, they have suggested settings for various radios that you can …
