Apr 1, 2016 · This tool was built based on a number of threads i've read about cost of EV vs ICEV cars (usually purchase costs vs comparable cars, maintenance costs and of course fuel/electricity running costs). I've tried to do an impartial and fair year-by-year analysis/comparison of costs which properly...

Oct 19, 2016 · And especially hard to do with non-Tesla EV's with only an 85 mile range. An 85 mile one way commute (completely draining the battery) is 85*2*5*50=42,500/year.

Aug 27, 2021 · I.e. about 3.5% difference for an ICEV getting 28 to 29 mpg. But remember that EVs use 1/4 to 1/3 the energy compared to similar size and shape ICEVs, so the same amount of additional energy lost to additional tire rolling resistance will be more like a 10.5% to 14% difference between best and worst for an EV.

Nov 8, 2024 · One thing I can say though : driving my Tesla 500 miles isn’t as hard on me as driving an ICEV 500 miles. The 15-20 minutes stops every 2-2,5 hours are what makes the drive effortless. Plus the AP or FSD that allows me to have a lot easier driving experience.

Apr 8, 2022 · Regardless, I made the same comment after my first test-drive of a Model 3P: It felt somewhat "limited" from 0-10 mph. Now I realize that this reaction was a combination of the truth PLUS the smoothness of the acceleration ramp-up. Compared to an ICEV in launch control mode, the Model 3 is nothing like as violent from a dead stop.
