ICAT - ESRF
ICAT is an open source metadata management system designed for large facilities and provided by PaNdata (consortium of all photon and neutron sources in Europe, dedicated to sharing good practices of data management).
ESRF - ICAT Project
The ESRF - The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility - is the most intense source of synchrotron-generated light, producing X-rays 100 billion times brighter than the X-rays used in hospitals. These X-rays, endowed with exceptional properties, are produced at the ESRF by the high energy electrons that race around the storage ring, a circular ...
Non-Structural Biology Samples: how to prepare a shipment to be ... - ESRF
The ESRF Data Portal (ICAT@ESRF) also serves the purpose of tracking all samples and equipment sent to the ESRF for user experiments. The ESRF is obliged to know at all times what samples and equipment are onsite, where they are at …
icat-plus - ESRF
ICAT+ is a NodeJS application that exposes a RestFul API and uses a MongoDB database. It allows: Logbook: Register and read events from the e-logbook database. Managing external resources such as images or any file. ICAT+ is a collaborative project and licensed under the MIT license. ICAT+ exposes a set of restful webservices.
ID02 Sample Preparation and Shipping - ESRF
The web page link with full instructions for preparing remote experiments, including the link to the ICAT sample tracking system, are send to the users along with the experiment invitation letter. Once the parcel has arrived at the ESRF Stores, the local contact will be notified via e-mail.
Sample tracking and sample preparation - icat-plus - ESRF
Any participant of an investigation can create a shipment. A shipment is needed when samples are sent to the facility and it is linked to a scheduled investigation. It is specially important to track parcels and sample on-site. A shipment is mainly composed by: Sender and return addresses.
ESRF will automatically collect data and metadata for all experiments from all beamlines (including CRGs) ESRF is the custodian of the raw data and associated metadata
DATA MANAGEMENT STATUS @ ESRF •ISPyB + ICAT –two working solutions at ESRF for structural biology (ISPyB) + all techniques (ICAT) New development started in 2023 to merge the two solutions to provide a single platform for all techniques to provide FAIR data (raw and processed) to ESRF Users and Open Data Users
Configuration - icat-plus - ESRF
ICAT+ allows to mint DOIs given a list of datasets, authors, title and abstract. ICAT+ will create in the Metadata Catalogue a new DataCollection entry with the selected datasets so DOI will be stored in the field 'doi' of the DataCollection table.
