The HydroFix™ Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) is a patented rod system that allows a beacon to be quickly and reliably released from a Category I bracket when submerged in water between 1.5-4 meters (4.9-13.1 feet).

Designed to work with Sea Shelter™, Sea Shelter™2 and Sea Shelter™3 brackets. A patented rod system does not rely on a battery, blade or pyrotechnic device to release the beacon. This advantage allows for a quick, seamless and reliable release in an emergency.

These brackets have been tested for correct hydrostatic release at temperatures of -300C and +700C. The HydroFix Universal Hydrostatic Release (HRU) has been granted USCG Certificate of Approval 160.162/13/0 dated 14 April 2016. These EPIRBs can be supplied together with a manual release bracket.
