With HOIL functioning as it does, it makes it very easy to perpetually maintain the 2x recharge and strength bonus for melees and grenades.

Sep 8, 2022 · The ability spam that you get with just HoIL and some good stats is the same as a fully moded and optimized warlock/hunters build. Oh, and it works ON EVERY CLASS. hunters/warlock (most of the time) need a specific exotic to the specific class they are using. HoIL is just the best in slot for everything ( but lorely, of course.

Based on the wording of the post, it sounds like OP is trying to get HoiL for the very first time, hence Lost Sectors (on chest day or using Postmaster trick) are a good option (probably the best in that case, depending on how many other exotics OP is missing).

HOIL is and has always been the lazy way of people's idea of Arc being viable. Wholly agreed with this, but I'd go further and say it's lazy, period. I honestly believe HOIL is the single most unimaginative Titan exotic possible. It reduces cooldowns and increases damage, but provides no other benefits or changes of any type.

HOIL is activated on grenade and class ability usage. For melees, it has to be an actual hit on an enemy. Combined with the coding that verbs take on source generation properties, the game will see a melee hit every scorch tick, keeping up HOIL.

Then factor in Grenade Kickstart and how easy it is to proc devour even without void abilities. I think I can spam void grenades even quicker than pre-nerf HOIL with even better survivability.

Not really. It pales in comparison to something like Getaway Artist on Prismatic. You'd probably get more mileage out of Speakers Sight too. The ability nerfs + HoIL nerf has really harmed its viability in most content. Still okay for neutral game, but far from what it used to be. Star-Eater Scales would be the class item perk to look for IMO.

Oct 29, 2022 · Hoil is the best exotic in the game. you don't even have to play a special way to use it, it just makes every single titan class a lot better. The regen is way higher than any other exotic in the game, and it goes to all abilities, and it also buffs the damage.

Oct 20, 2022 · Honestly, HoIL interaction with these are fine imo. Storm Grenades need just an adjustment through the Titan Aspect. For Void, I do think that HoIL's melee damage buff shouldn't stack with Overshield Melee damage buff, but only because of one specific situation: it If they ever plan to nerf the 1-2-Punch Slide-Shoulder Charge, then it's not needed.
