Hitoyoshi Castle (人吉城, Hitoyoshi-jō) was an Edo period flatlands-style Japanese castle located in the city of Hitoyoshi, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. Its ruins have been protected as a National Historic Site since 1961. [1]

For approximately 700 years, from the Kamakura period to the end of the Edo period, this site served as the home of the Sagara family and is one of Japan's Top 100 Castles.
