Makoto Hanamiya (花宮 真 Hanamiya Makoto) is the coach and captain of Kirisaki Daiichi High as well as one of the Uncrowned Kings. His notably foul and underhanded play has earned him the nickname of "The Bad Boy".

Makoto Hana miya (花) meaning "Flower". Reo Mi buchi (実) meaning "Fruit" or "Seed". Each of the Uncrowned Kings have been given a nickname based on their traits and abilities. Interestingly enough, none of the Uncrowned Kings currently occupy the Power Forward position, though Eikichi Nebuya used to play as a Power Forward.

To make sure they don't get caught by the referee, a player is purposely blocking the vision of the referee, then the others do the rest. They also do these where the refs won't see through.
