Haré+Guu (Japanese: ジャングルはいつもハレのちグゥ, Hepburn: Janguru wa Itsumo Hare nochi Gū, lit. "The Jungle Was Always Sunny, Then Came Guu") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Renjuro Kindaichi which ran in Square Enix's Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine from 1997 to 2002.

Guu (ぐゥ, romanized as Goo in the manga) is a mysterious being with the appearance of a little girl, but is clearly far more than what she seems, possessing very ambiguous morals and abilities that allow her to do almost anything she desires. She is one of the two main titular characters of Haré+Guu alongside Haré.

Haré+Guu (ジャングルはいつもハレのちグゥ Janguru wa Itsumo Hare nochi Gū?, lit. The Jungle Was Always Nice, Then Came Guu) is a Japanese anime, based on an original manga which ran in Monthly Shōnen Gangan [1] Twenty-six TV episodes were made, followed by two OVA sequels: Haré+Guu DELUXE and Haré+Guu FINAL.

Things change one evening when Weda comes home with a little "playmate" for Hare, a pretty little girl named Guu. But when Hare wakes up the next morning, Guu has "transformed" into a sullen, nasty and sarcastic joker who takes great pleasure in making Hare's life utterly miserable.

Haré is a boy who grew up in a jungle village with Weda. He sports a sleeveless white shirt, red shorts, and is always barefoot. The usually patient and sweet-natured Haré (whose name means 'fair weather') is usually troubled by Guu's joy in creating chaos and he is prone to anxious rants or tantrums whenever Guu does something unnatural.

Haré and his mother live peacefully in the jungle, until one day the boy is overtaken by a omnipotent shadow. Later, he awakens to find Guu, a strange girl with even stranger abilities - notably, the ability to switch from a cute, lovable Guu, to a …

Ten-year-old Hare (Aikawa) lives happily in a jungle community with his carefree alcoholic mother Weda (Morota), but when she adopts an orphan child called Guu (Watanabe) his good spirits nosedive: for though Guu can be sweet and charming, her default temperament is deadpan and snarky, with chaos and trolling Hare her main pastimes.

She is one of the two main titular characters of Haré+Guu alongside a young boy named Haré. Near the end of the series, Guu reveals to Haré that she is actually the goddess of the world. Guu normally has a dull and expressionless face, befitting as she rarely shows any genuine emotion.
