Like the HK33, the HK53 fed from 25, 30 or 40 round box magazines. The weapon weighed just over 3kg (7lb), almost a 1 kg less than its parent rifle the HK33.

Feb 27, 2025 · Gonna be real hard to find an hk53 handguard for quite some time I would think - recoil is greater then AR15 and likely greater than ar-180 based variants such as scar, brn-180, hk 416, g36 aug, etc, etc.

The HK53 is technically a variant of the HK 33 rifle, based on the proven delayed roller lock bolt system introduced with the G3 battle rifle scaled down to 5.56 mm NATO. The gun is useful because it combines the power of an assault rifle, including the ability to penetrate body armor, with the handling characteristics of a submachine gun.

Dec 11, 2024 · In my opinion, the HK53 is a soft-shooting rifle, much more so than many AR-15s. Optics and Mounts: The HK53 comes with a claw optic mount, which is reliable and has a long history of use. You can also mount any Picatinny-equipped scope or red dot. Magazine Release: My least favorite part of the HK53 is the reload and magazine release system.
