Oct 30, 2020 · The answer is yes! There is a difference in using HDMI 2.1 over HDMI 2.0b for a non-gamer. 1) 24Hz, 30Hz, 60Hz are all a multiplication of 120Hz. Meaning, they are able to properly synchronize with the TV's refresh rate as a result of a 5:5 pulldown.

May 15, 2016 · HDMI 2.0 Level B, which we can safely ignore. HDMI 2.0 Level B is an older lesser form of HDMI 2.0. HDMI 2.0a is more advanced. There is also an HDMI 2.1 coming soon, but I'm wondering too if that update is also irrelevant. tl;dr HDMI 2.0b is now out and HDMI 2.1 is coming soon, but nobody has even mentioned either for any of their products.

Apr 21, 2022 · HDMI.org now considers cables designed for the HDMI 2.0 option sets compatible with some of the HDMI 2.1 option sets.. As to the cable above, it appears to be an older Belkin cable designed for the older HDMI specs. It probably works fine for HD (1080i/p) but may have issues with the higher requirements of HDMI 2.0 and above.

Therefore, the audio formats contained HDMI 1.3 is the best you can achieve "audio wise" as outlined above. I have read more on this and it seems that while eARC is a new feature of the HDMI 2.1 chipset (as I understand, the thing integrated in the TV/receiver and other hardware in which you plug in the cable), in terms of the cable, all you need to take advantage of eARC is an HDMI cable with an Ethernet channel (which has been available since HDMI 1.4).
