May 15, 2016 · HDMI 2.0 Level B, which we can safely ignore. HDMI 2.0 Level B is an older lesser form of HDMI 2.0. HDMI 2.0a is more advanced. There is also an HDMI 2.1 coming soon, but I'm wondering too if that update is also irrelevant. tl;dr HDMI 2.0b is now out and HDMI 2.1 is coming soon, but nobody has even mentioned either for any of their products.

As to the cable above, it appears to be an older Belkin cable designed for the older HDMI specs. It probably works fine for HD (1080i/p) but may have issues with the higher requirements of HDMI 2.0 and above.

I have read more on this and it seems that while eARC is a new feature of the HDMI 2.1 chipset (as I understand, the thing integrated in the TV/receiver and other hardware in which you plug in the cable), in terms of the cable, all you need to take advantage of eARC is an HDMI cable with an Ethernet channel (which has been available since HDMI 1.4).
