Jun 28, 2023 · Display port 1.4A has less bandwidth than hdmi 2.1. What happens is display port 240hz HDR can run native 8bit but compresses 10bit visually lossless. Hdmi is able to do 10bit 240hx without compression and 12bit 240hz with compression. Bit depth allows for more colors and properly implemented, better gradients.

May 30, 2023 · With CRU, I'm able to get DSR working with DP 1.4 non-DSC mode 8-bit RGB @ 201 Hz and with YCbCr422 (looks identical to to RGB to me and actually removes text fringe) at the full 240 Hz at up to either 10-bit. With HDMI 2.1, we can get DSR working at RGB 240 Hz up to 10-bit or 12-bit (can't remember).

Dec 2, 2022 · HDMI 2.1 is actually just as good as Display port 1.4. HDMI 2.1 provides refresh rates of 240hz on 1080p and 120hz at 4K. The OP’s problem is actually that the manufacturer advertised the overclocked refresh rate instead of the default. If he wants 180hz, he would have to make a custom one within Nvidia Control Panel and apply it manually.

Aug 27, 2022 · Turn on CEC and when u turn on the cable box it should turn on the TV and be on HDMI 1. You can also say "ok google switch to HDMI 1" and it will switch to that port. You might have to go into the cable box settings and set CEC on it.

HDMI 2.1 has 41.9 Gbps of actual usable bandwidth, while DP 1.4 has 25.9 Gbps, when displaying 4K 240Hz 10bit color which requires close 70 Gbps of bandwidth, the HDMI 2.1 connection would use less image compression than DP 1.4, do the math yourself. in general you should always choose to use less image compression when available, why not use HDMI 2.1 …

When playing on a 1080p monitor or 1440p monitor, HDMI 2.0 seems to be the good middle ground allowing 1080p240fps max, or 1440p120fps. Sep 9, 2020 · Hdmi 2.1 can do 4K 120hz while DisplayPort 1.4 can do 4K 144hz. You’re going to have to use DisplayPort to achieve the output as advertised by that monitor but you’ll be limited to 4:2:2 colors and 4:4:4 colors with 4K 120hz.
