Goat IgG, also known as goat immunoglobulin G, is an antibody that is produced by the immune system of goats in response to the presence of antigens. IgG is a type of immunoglobulin that plays a role in the recognition and neutralization of pathogens, such as bacteria and viruses.

This IgG preparation is intended for use as a control for primary antibodies made in goat. This antibody has been purified from pooled serum of healthy adult animals and contains a spectrum of the IgG subclasses present in serum.

In goat colostrum, the IgG concentration is about 2.4-2.8 times greater than in serum and the IgG1 subclass accounts for 95-98 per cent. During the immune response the IgG1 rises sharply whereas variations in IgG2 concentration are less evident.

Goat IgG is purified from normal goat serum by fractionation and ion-exchange chromatography. Purified IgG may be used as a reference antigen, standard, blocking agent or coating protein in a variety of immunoassays including ELISA, dot immunobinding, Western immunoblotting, immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoresis.

Goat IgG is a glycoprotein antibody that is fractionated from pooled normal goat serum. In immunoelectrophoresis, goat IgG yields a single major arc of precipitation in the γ region against anti-goat IgG and anti-goat whole serum.

Reportedly useful as a stabilizer/blocker for EIA and RIA systems, IHC assays, immunoprecipitation, Western Blot and ELISA experiments, and protein standards.

Purified Goat IgG conjugated to horseradish peroxidase in buffer containing liquid in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.1 with 15mg/mL BSA and 0.1% Kathon. Storage and Stability The undiluted antibody is stable at 2-8°C for 12 months.
