Mar 27, 2024 · Currently the Engineer has a RFID receiver, wired to an Arduino board with a push button that activates a relay which is supposed complete a circuit. I believe the plan is once this "working sample" is completed I will then receive a gerber file in which we can have the PCB's produced, and we will complete the product from there.

Aug 7, 2024 · Gerber files do not contain specific device information that defines connectivity. It just artwork. Its quicker to obtain specific device info, trace it out on the PCB (maybe a printout of the gerber file(s)), and create the schematic.

Nov 10, 2022 · no drilling file; front silk-screen extends outside the board area. a number of thru-holes have no copper on the back of the board (eg USB connector etc.) there's a diode (bottom right, below connector) with no connect to cathode; Creating a drill file just from the Gerber files isn't easy and will be time-consuming; I can't help you there.

In the mean time I am planning to use a CNC or home made PCB method to make a working proto and confirm the circuit results. I got all the components. Just the PCB is not ready.

Apr 3, 2010 · It says it can import Gerber files, which are photoplots of the various traces and PCB layers. The full expression, Gerber 247X, also includes all the information needed to actually make the PCB. Beside the photoplots, there is the drill file that specifies how big the holes should be. "Should I buy" - that is really up to you and your needs.
