Apr 9, 2004 · fmx is a piece of crap, they are somewhat strong but hardly any aftermarket parts and a cast iron case. Ever seen a B&M FMX or any other hipo trans company offer an FMX? NOPE! (They do make great boat anchors). C-4's are a dime a dozen at the pick a parts for 50.00.

Mar 12, 2017 · Yeah, it's an FE for sure. The giant intake that is part of the heads tells me that. Anyway, I can find no information on an SX transmission and it looks to be a 14 bolt pan which some FMX's in old T-Birds had. Looks like the thread you pointed to is the exact same one I have. I am fairly confident that this is an FMX or FX, but still an oddball.

Feb 8, 2003 · FMX's are *harder* to find a *variety* of parts for than a C4. FMX's and C6's share output shaft size but the input shaft is smaller on an FMX vs C6. A C4 is even smaller. The clutches? Well C4 are about 60% as big as FMX which are 60% as big as C6. You make the call !

Apr 1, 2012 · The reason parts stores don't care FMX converters is that those converters seldom sell. The FMX is a fairly bullet proof transmission that had few problems and few repairs even when it was common. Now that they are uncommon, there is even less reason for them to stock a non-moving item.

Jul 15, 2021 · I have a 1969 mustang that I removed the transmission from and replaced gaskets and seals on. Went and filled the trans with about 4 qts and started the car it was reading a little over and tried to run it through the gears it seems all forward gears work and no reverse at all

Feb 9, 2017 · I have for sale an authentic original 1969 ford Mustang FMX automatic transmission. The casting number is C9ZP-7006A. This is original down to the paint and comes with the transmission body, bellhousing for ford, small block 6-bolt engines, tail housing, and dipstick. Right now the transmission is on ebay but I am happy to take offers of any kind.

Apr 22, 2015 · hey guys back again with what seems like a straightforward, easy question. I'm running an FMX transmission that I had rebuilt with a shift kit and yada yada yada for strength. problem I'm having is it's shifting way too early for my liking. (lockup is at 2k and shifting before then under light acceleration and bogging 2nd gear.)
