RE said slow and steady is better than "off to the races" when it comes to stimming, especially with egg quality.

It was my first cycle w/ follistim and iui's. I started out with 5 follies growing but when the day came for me to trigger I only had 1 mature one. That mature worked and I now I have soon to be 10 month son. I had no problems with follistim. It was pretty easy to give myself the inj. and I really had no side effects. Good Luck to you!

Took a year and a half of trying on our own. Then did 3 mths in a row of Clomid (50mg, 100mg, 150mg) 2nd cycle with IUI. Didnt work. Was supposed to do IUI with 3rd cycle but ovulated early CD 20. Then did Follistim injections ranging 75u, 100 u and 50u. Had 4 mature follicles and found out I was pregnant last week.

I only did that for 2 days and then I dropped my dose down to 375 and added 37.5 IU Menopur (which is the equivalent of 412.5 IU Follistim plus 37.5 IU of LH). The RE I did my 2nd opinion with said that anything over 450 is a waste because your body can't process more than that.

Sep 30, 2012 · It sounds like my first IVF was exactly the same protocol, but lower doses. I did 150 Follistim, 75 Menopur for 8 days (I'm 28). I only had 9 mature eggs though and only 2 made it to transfer (1 frozen). For this time around, I'll be on Follistim and Menopur again but higher doses. I'll be on 375iu Follistim and 75iu Menopur.
