What planes have realistic "fold every time you fly" wings?
Oct 8, 2018 · I've been reading about Fly Babies and after reading the wing fold procedure, I am left wondering it it is actually easier than removing the wings. On the other hand, the Sonex Onex, Avid Flyers and Kitfoxs have a wing folding mechanism that one person can fold or unfold the plane in 15 minutes.

Feb 22, 2005 · I sure miss the old Wings program, I went years without a what was then called a 'BFR'. IIRC, All you had to do under the old Wings program was fly 3 hours dual and one hour ground school taught by a CFI or FAA person. There were only very general guidelines as to what was to be covered in each training event.
Winter flying and icing - Pilots of America
May 24, 2016 · If you have ice buildup (you need to visibly look at your wings), then you need to climb above the clouds to allow the sun to melt it off or land. Report the issue to ATC, do not delay. You are not supposed to fly in known icing conditions in a C172 either. Clouds + negative temps (even 2C can have icing so don’t be stuck on 0C) at altitude ...
High wing vs low wing efficiency - Pilots of America
Mar 22, 2017 · Interference drag tends to be higher with high wings. Tends. High wing retracts suck. If you cantilever the wings, the carrythrough is sometimes easier with a low wing. Low wings can be more floaty. The first cantilever wing airplane was built by Junkers in 1915. It was also the first all metal airplane.

Dec 17, 2021 · By now I am sure everyone has seen the video of the Crop Duster whose wings snapped off. This is the 2nd incident I am aware of where dumping water resulted in the wings folding. The former being the C-130 repurposed for fire fighting. I don't understand the physics.
Looking for a aviation poem - Pilots of America
Aug 15, 2007 · The wings that bear one home--the song of the engine when the homebound leagues fold the homesick heart in their embrace--the joy of letting down to the place the heart has never left--the thrill of returning to the one spot on earth beloved above all others--home! And, if it be "Home for Christmas," how thrice blessed are my wings. - Gill Robb ...
Where does ice first form on an a/c? | Pilots of America
Oct 24, 2007 · I fly mainly 172s and have never been in icing conditions, but I've realized that the upper part of the wing SHOULD be coolest part of the plane due to the low pressure "refrigerating" it. And since many cabin heaters also act as windscreen defroster one would be unable to collect ice on the windows until after the top of the wings have some ice.
