After considerable research, I found what I had been looking for, and more, in the Felt 45 Road Bike. Aluminum frame, carbon fork and stays, ultegra drivetrain (this bike came with Dura Ace rear derailer!) and decent wheels (Velomax Circuit).

Stiffness, refined handling and light weight. Ultegra group shifts with absolute precision. Ksyrium wheels have remained true after 3 months of riding. Surprisingly comfortable saddle. Great colors/graphics. Aggressive price point. Should come with 11-28 cassette instead of 11-25. White bar tape shows dirt quickly.

Jan 20, 2004 · The F45, like all of their bikes, is an incredible value, and the wheel spec on that bike is about as bombproof as you can get. You get the Dura Ace derailleur, and their premium “AC1” 2.8 pound frame to boot. That said; The TCR Composite is a really sweet bike.
