The FAYZ was created on November tenth, a Monday, in 2008, at ten eighteen in the morning. The FAYZ was created by a 4 year old child named Little Pete to avoid a nuclear disaster, a disaster which may have been caused by the Gaiaphage.

The FAYZ Barrier, also known as the FAYZ wall, or simply as the dome, is a huge barrier, taking the shape of a sphere (dome), which surrounds the entirety of Perdido Beach and its surrounding countrysides, better known as the FAYZ zone by those trapped inside the barrier.

The Gone Series currently consists of nine books. The original six books are about the FAYZ. The next three are set four years after and contain concepts from the original six books and from Michael Grant 's other series, Animorphs.
