Chien-Po is an obese, bald camper from Li Shang ’s camp, most likely based off of the buddha Budai, otherwise known as Maitreya. He is shown to be very kind and is not a fan of violence. The aspects he searches for in a woman is that of a talent for cooking, as he loves food.

Fa Mulan (speaking voice by Ming-Na Wen, singing voice provided by Lea Salonga, portrayed by Liu Yifei in the live-action film) is a young woman who, in place of her father Fa Zhou, enlists in the army as a man named Fa Ping.

They are a ragtag trio of soldiers who were enlisted in the Chinese army during the war against Shan Yu. Though they were initially hostile towards their fellow soldier, Fa Mulan, they would become some of her closest friends over the course of their mission.
