May 7, 2023 · FK8 is a no brainer. If money isn’t an issue , FL5 for creature comfort upgrades. 19 inch wheels, wireless car play, better sound system etc. Subdued look. FK8, stock 20’s and pre-2019’s don’t have the drive assist technology. Aggressive styling. FK8 is a much much better deal given FK5s pricing.

Feb 28, 2023 · Main improvement is how FL5 handles its boost - it's somewhat more responsive and closer to driving a very powerful NA motor than the FK8. Overall power feels essentially the same. Impressive tuning - very easy to meter-out power and find the most traction without just spinning up wildly.

Oct 8, 2020 · Since essentially the FK8 and FL5 use the same engine/drivetrain I'm wondering if it'll fit. Since the part numbers are different and the FL5 is coming in with more hp and tq, I can only assume that honda has opted to go with a "better" clutch/flywheel for this car.

If you can find a used early model FK8 Type R in good condition with reasonable mileage mid $30,000s, or 2020+ FK8 in the high $30,000s - you can indeed get a lot of the modern Type R experience at a significantly lower price than an FL5.
