During a recent press event BAE Systems stated that the Typhoon's RCS is bettered only by the F-22 in the frontal hemisphere and betters the F-22 at some angles. You could also call the Eurofighter outmanoeuvring the F-22 and tailing it from behind "low observability" at least in the F-22's pilot’s view....

Feb 5, 2009 · a; The F-22 RCS is pretty good, since it is a much larger aircraft than the F-35, but has a much smaller RCS. or.... b; The F-35 RCS is somewhat disappointing, because despite the fact that it is a much smaller aircraft than the F-22, it has a substantially larger RCS.

Relatively simple: Because the F-22 RCS is lower than the F-35 RCS in most of even all other angles except frontal. For example is very likely (and I believe this is widely acknowledged) that the F-22 side and rear RCS are lower than the F-35 RCS in the same angles (sides and rear).

So the nominal F-22 RCS (.0001 m^2) against a nominal Eurofighter RCS (.1 m^2), the Raptor can both lock and launch first. If both a supercruising, the engagement envelope for the Raptor in large (though the Meteor is a damn good missile from what I hear) and possibly even use contempt of engagement.

Feb 6, 2017 · F-35 RCS would then be between 0.000003 to 0.00002 square meters as it's said to be lower than F-22 one. That's between -47 to -55 dB. Even if I were to say the F-22 was at .0001 (a number I have long used for it and in your range) and the F-35 was at .00005 (bigger than anything you put up but still half the Raptor) that is -40 and -42dB right?

With an RCS of 0.5m2, this thing won't even be as stealthy as an F-18 Super Hornet. It will fall woefully short of F-35 or F-22 numbers. The person who posted earlier that this will probably end up being some rehashed Flanker design is probably correct. spazsinbad Elite 5K
