Jul 19, 2020 · Hi All - long title but it is the question I am asking. What do you folks think is the best large eye box / eye relief scope for long distance shooting? I recently got into long range shooting and purchased a Steiner T5Xi 5-25x56 with SCR Mil reticle. It is a beautiful, well built marvel, but I was very surprise how unforgiving the eye box was.
Rifle Scopes What is a scope's eye box? - Definition attempted
Dec 28, 2011 · Re: What is a scope's eye box? - Definition attempted A couple of points: 1. Exit pupil (EP) does not necessarily equal objective diameter/magnification because the internal pupil may be restricted at some magnifications in variable scopes so EP may be smaller than calculated at low magnifications.
Rifle Scopes Most forgiving eyebox for PRS - Sniper's Hide
May 2, 2014 · A good eye box helps in these situations. We probably have one or two stages like this per match. Yes I get it. Training is the best remedy for any shooting deficiency. The shooter with the fixed 10 power scope and a lot of training is going to be much better than the guy with a $5000 scope who does not practice.
Rifle Scopes Please Explain Eye Relief - Sniper's Hide
Jul 13, 2013 · Eye relief is the distance measured between your eyeball, and the rear of the scope, to allow for a full sight picture through the scope. Short eye relief can result in getting bopped in the eye socket by your scope during the recoil …
Rifle Scopes LVPO with the best eye box? - Sniper's Hide
Dec 20, 2019 · I’d like something in the 1-6 or 1-8 mag range, eye box is a big priority, along with all around optical quality (this site has turned me into a glass snob). It’ll be going on a 13.7” “do it all” AR chambered in 556 that’ll be used for training, possibly some competition down the road, and a shtf scenario.
Rifle Scopes Better Eye Box/Relief Near Top of Magnification Range
Jan 15, 2011 · I know eye box and eye relief get tighter as you near max magnification, but some get tighter sooner throughout the range than others. And some scopes need adjusting of the parallax about every 50 yards. The only scope below I've been able to finger-bang is the NF. Impressive for sure, but 7x is getting up there for the low end while hunting.
Scout Scope Long Eye Relief | Sniper's Hide Forum
Nov 29, 2005 · I have a Steyr Scout that normally has a Leupold scout scope, but it was temporarily off the rifle. I put the Leupold on the Ruger and it worked well. The Leupold is supposedly 9 inches or something of eye relief. The Burris 2-7 scout scope is supposed to be 9 to something inches (or whatever). Same same, I figured it would work.
Rifle Scopes How to properly set up eye relief on a new set-up
Jan 8, 2011 · So I have my Remington 700, Bushnell 4200 3-12x44, Warne 1 PC, 20 MOA Picatinny rail and Seekins medium rings. I read the FAQ on leveling the reticle, but I didn't see anything on setting up the eye relief. I plan to shoot primarily from 100-600 yards. I will initially use a 100 yard zero, and...
do you shoot a scoped rifle with both eyes open? - Sniper's Hide
Nov 11, 2006 · With age, I find myself sqinting my left eye when looking through the scope, but have always before kept both eyes open. This is an age thing and how you eyes get old and you need bi-focals. Target identification and getting on it is much easier if you are both eye dominant and left or right handed as long as the dominant eye and being right or ...
What are the best options for eyeglass friendly spotting scopes
Dec 4, 2011 · What I'm looking for is a quality spotting scope with enough eye relief to see a nice, full picture without vignetting. My 20 year old Leupold 12-40 has plenty of eye relief (30mm), but probably falls short in optical quality compared to today's best. I've looked at the Swarovski and Vortex, but both of those have eye relief in the 18-20mm range.
