May 1, 2004 · i know they got extra power from EL XR8 over the EF XR8 by increasing throttle body and MAF size, was the ecu different as well? If so, can i use an EL XR8 ecu in my EF XR8? was the increase from 165 to 185 kw purely only from throttle body and maf difference?

Jan 16, 2006 · The EL has a different front bar, which is actually a 2 piece unit, made up of a standard EF bar with a different top glued on. The EL XR had a thin side mould, whereas the EF had a thick one (similar to Fairmont).

Apr 7, 2025 · Just wondering what the main differences were between the EF,EL and AU XR6 and XR8 boxes..... Is there actually much difference between an AU XR8 gear box to the one in an EF XR6/Xr8 ? Are the EL XR6 and ER8 auto boxes different ? According to my Ellerys manual, the 6 is a 95LE and the 8 is a 97LE. This is the part no difference.
