East Kai (東 ひがし の 界 かい 王 おう, Higashi no Kaiō, lit. "Eastern King of Worlds") is a short, dumpy Kai who rules over the East Area of the universe.

The Dragon Ball universe is split into four quadrants, each governed by a Kai: North Kai, West Kai, South Kai, and East Kai. King Kai, a prominent figure in Dragon Ball Z Kai, is the North Kai in the Earth's local galaxy. A fifth Kai, the Grand Kai, supervises the four quadrant Kais.

In Dragon Ball Z, Shin, known as the Supreme Kai, distinguishes himself by ruling the east quadrant of the universe and becoming the primary ruler of Universe 7 following the deaths of the other Supreme Kais.

The show and manga have given us little info, but we can expeculate that Shin is the Supreme Kai and God of Creation of Universe 7, there is currently no East Kai, nor other quadrant Kai anymore, if any, it's the Old Kai out of the Z Sword as he used to be an East Kai before getting trapped and now his back.

Shin is the East Supreme Kai (or East Kaioshin) of Universe 7, responsible for the oversight of the eastern quadrant of the living universe and, ultimately, the entire universe, with the deaths of his fellow Kai.
