Mar 27, 2013 · The lip allows the incomming air to flow around the edge of the fan without turbulating..with out the lip the air will trip over the edge and cause a turbulant wake which will make the fan think the intake is smaller diameter than it really is.

Apr 5, 2007 · I'm about to finish up the EJF/Sapac Red Arrows Hawk and I need to install the fan. I was wondering how to attach the lip to the fan. Is simply snapping on good enough? Doesn't seem an extremely tight fit. Is it normal to glue the intake lip to the fan? How do you normally secure the lip to the fan? SoCal, Year Round Flying!
