Nov 2, 2011 · I agree, the E46 convertible top design is much better (solid glass rear window, doesn't fold), but the E36 is still pretty good. As long as you keep in mind the rear window is not a lifetime part, but needs to be replaced (probably as often as tires) then you will be fine.
