Dec 7, 2020 · I've got two black labs. One 6yr old and one 6mo old. The 6yr is either super smart or dumb. The puppy is smart. Ex. We keep all dog related things on the kennel. Older dog never bothered with it. The younger one will whine like he needs to go out and when I'm by the kennel, he'll sit and look at the treat bin and then me and then bark.

There has to be some truly dumb dog breeds out there but I think the breeds most people consider dumb are actually the "I'm not motived to listen to you" breeds lol. Bulldog Shiba Basset Hound Dachshund Beagle They're not all dumb but they do tend to be stubborn and hard to train which makes us humans just call them dumb.

Mar 17, 2016 · Labs are in the top 10 of intelligent dogs. While BC's and Poodles are the doggy geniuses, Labs would be just gifted amongst other dogs. Basset hounds would be an example of a dumb dog. I think your example shows that most people are probably better off with an intelligent dog over a dumb dog. Edit: Also your example is more comparing biddability.
