Do ducks have teeth? - BirdForum
Jan 21, 2010 · No duck has “true teeth”, of course, though some have specialized adaptations for filtering (e.g., shovelers) or for the gripping of large slippery prey (e.g., mergansers). I just looked up LT Duck on BNA-online, but found no reference to “lamellae” or “teeth” except a bare mention of the former in connection with the bill of the duckling. According to BNA, LT Ducks have a …

Wood Ducks wild in the UK? - BirdForum

Merganser ducks in trees? - BirdForum
Feb 21, 2009 · Yes, mergansers are sea ducks (tribe mergini) as are the Smew & the goldeneyes which also nest in tree cavities. The scaups are diving ducks (tribe aythini) & nest on the ground in the conventional manner (as indeed do the eiders & some other sea ducks). Tree-nesting ducks don't really "perch" in trees--their feet aren't adapted for that- …

Selective breeding of domestic Mallards has produced a large variety of different "breeds" of Mallard which vary enormously in plumage, bare parts, size and structure but they are all 100% Mallard and not hybrids between ...

Ruddy ducks in St James Park - BirdForum
May 12, 2014 · I've been trying to do some searching on this and have come up with contradictory answers. My questions is: Are the ruddy ducks in St James Park part of the collection or are they feral (Cat C) birds? I've seem someone mention they are part of the collection but they are reported on the WeBS...
