delta rho | Energy Glossary
A log that shows the magnitude of the correction applied to the long spacing detector of a density measurement. When delta rho is above a certain value, typically ±0.15 g/cm 3, the correction may no longer be accurate, and needs to be examined in more detail.

The density correction (DRHO) curve (Fig. F88) is calculated from the difference between the short- and long-spaced density measurements and provides a further indication of the quality of the bulk density data. DRHO values in excess of 0.1 g/cm 3 indicate unreliable density data.

From Density Logs To Vertical Stress Magnitude
Jul 6, 2020 · Use density log correction curve (DRHO) to isolate spurious density measurements. Density data was assumed to be inaccurate where the corresponding DRHO value is greater than 0.2 g/cm 3. The caliper log provides an alternative measure of borehole rugosity.
The Defining Series: Basic Well Log Interpretation | SLB
Jul 28, 2016 · Logging tools record the magnitude of a specific formation prop-erty, such as resistivity, measured as the tool traverses an interval defined by depth; a well log is a chart that shows the value of that measurement plotted versus depth.
QUALITY OF LWD LOGS - Texas A&M University
The differential caliper (DCAL) is the best indicator of borehole conditions. The bulk density correction (DRHO), calculated from the difference between the short- and long-spaced density measurements, varies from 0 to 0.1 g/cm 3 (Figs. F4, F5), which shows the good quality of the density measurements in Holes 1173B and 1173C.

The bulk density correction (DRHO), calculated from the difference between the short- and long-spaced density measurements, varies from 0 to 0.1 g/cm 3 (Fig. F39), which shows the good quality of the density measurements.
The Density log measures the apparent density (RHOB) of the formation, by means of the interaction between the gamma rays emitted by a radioactive source and the rock.
DRHO or Delta ρ represents the correction factor applied to the ρb or Bulk Density in kg/m3. Wherever Delta ρ in the log exceeds the value of 150 kg/m3 it is indicative that the skid of the density well logging tool is either not close enough to the borehole wall or is into a rough section of the borehole wall, where the density logging tool ...
