This causes the to treat the fight like a bunch of low level sea serpents saving their resources as best as they can, while boosting the Hydra's offense by making more heads. At half hp, the Hydra will leave the water to climb onto whatever is holding the players (boat/ bridge).

You can rule it either way really, -its tougher because it manages to survive encounters and grow more heads. For actually altering the hydra statblock to challenge higher level PCs, adding more heads is a pretty simple way of cranking up the difficulty (hopefully with suitable boosts to HP and/or AC). Sep 8, 2018 · Is the hydra serving a greater evil or working with another force? Perhaps throw in some CR 2-3 creatures of whatever the hydra is working for. Maybe the hydra is being controlled by a spellcaster (mad wizard, cleric of sea god, or warlock) and hydra is the big bruiser in the fight while the spellcaster throws spells from the back.

It is a purely vocal song style, and several vocal-only tracks can be found on youtube and other channels. Bonus, they are typically in a language other than English, so to us English speakers, it sounds even more foreign to our hears.

Jul 21, 2022 · I think the original version of the false hydra had the song reach 5 miles, so 5,000 ft was my compromise haha. I was actually thinking 1,000 ft would be better, so I'll probably change it to that. The head regrowth would stack, so if it gains 7 hit points per attack on average, that's 35 hit points in 5 hits.
