Feb 2, 2022 · I used OpenStack CLI with PowerShell and just made an image with Debian 11 from the latest build: debian-11-genericcloud-amd64.raw. This will work perfect for new servers later on. I wasn't able to do it prior via the dashboard due to a upload glitch, and the fact they wouldn't provide a public release for Debian 11 sadly.

Jul 4, 2023 · I myself was confused by the site at first, but did find Debian 11 eventually. I guess there's simply a whole lot of stuff on there. Ended up installing Debian 12 anyway. Those live .iso files are a godsend, Linux Mint grade noob-friendly. Perhaps even friendlier.

Ubuntu being bloated means that Canonical puts on certain software you may never use or need, it takes up dist space and can make the OS run slower. Debian is more light and comes with the bare minimum of programs you need to get going.
