Apr 22, 2009 · Ah yes, the dreaded D15Z1. I had it (still do) the stock motor that came in my hatch. Get rid of it, you can't mini-me it because of the spindle oil ports near the pistons on the block. Go with a D15B and a tranny, you'd be suprised at how cheap they are going, and I don't care what anybody else says, they ARE the most powerful D-series motor.

Jun 28, 2011 · The D15Z1 does have 190cc injectors, which is why you do the full intake swap like I said, including the rail and injectors, otherwise swapping to P28/P06 won't have any effect. You really need to read what I fucking said before calling it wrong.

Apr 5, 2010 · If the case were say a D15B Vtec Against a D15Z1 e-Vtec. then you have to consider cam properties, valve train, compression, intake and exhaust valve sizes, intake manifold size, throttle body diameter, intake tube diameter. now complete differences, the z1 has an EGR system, wideband o2 sensor, very long trans gears, etc all helping gas ...

May 22, 2007 · The d15z1 bottom end is UBER-similar to the d15b(vtec) bottom end, with the exception of the pistons. I have a theory why I've never tweaked a rod, and it has to do with the r/s ratio and it's effects. If you're serious about vtec-e, swap to …

Mar 6, 2004 · you will have very low compression, just so you know. the d15z1 engine has a *MASSIVE* dished piston to accomodate for the very small combustion chambers on the d15z1 head. the z6 is the opposite.. it has a slight dish piston, and a larger combustion chamber.

Feb 19, 2009 · Is your D15Z1 a swap or did your car come stock with it? I swapped out a B7 for the Z1 and I found out the Z1 has the EGR valve. I have one vacuum port on the egr valve, one vacuum port on top of the air intake, that are suppose to go to a control box on the firewall. Well the D15B7 didn't have a EGR valve and doesnt have the control box on there.

Oct 16, 2007 · * D15Z1 and D15B motors have a rod that is the same length as a D16. Other than the rod length, the rest of the bottom end is D15 spec (i.e. rod and crank bearings). D15B has D16 sized rod journals. D15B uses the same p28 rods that the D16z6 does. All other D15s have smaller rod journals. * The B18A/B Rod has the same bearing bore as a D16.
