Aug 1, 2022 · Concordia has a new compassion care canine-in-training! Grace, a labradoodle born May 21, recently began her extensive training with Dawgs in Motion to prepare to succeed Zoey as Concordia’s newest comfort dog. Grace is expected to join the CUW campus sometime in 2023, once her training is fully completed.

Mar 9, 2023 · Concordia University Wisconsin recently began a new certification program called Compassion Care Certificate. In this program, students are able to earn two certificates; one through Concordia University and one through a local dog training facility, Dawgs in Motion.

This 12 credit certificate provides training in the art and skills of compassionate care for educators, athletic trainers, and other vocations. The program highlights include work with our Comfort Dogs, trauma-informed practices, social-emotional learning strategies, lessons of compassion from Jesus, our master teacher, and a practicum.

A Concordia Cohort of Canine Compassion Care
Aug 15, 2021 · Eight CUW students—along with Zoey the Comfort Dog—are blazing a new trail in pursuing the new Compassion Care Certificate. Zoey the Concordia Comfort Dog will be getting some new handlers this semester, as eight students are starting the new Compassion Care Certificate program.
