May 10, 2004 · Civ III is an old game that was not designed to work particularly well with modern high resolution monitors. By default the game runs in a forced 1024x768, with the intro movie playing at 640x480 and this can cause problems starting the game.

Dec 12, 2006 · On the other side in Civ 3 there is much more "freedom" for the average modder without this :thumbdown :thumbdown -Civ 4 graphic engine, war works better in Civ 3 (what is the most fun in Civ games for me), there is a much better feeling to have a big empire in Civ 3 than in Civ 4 and there is a much better gaming performance on my pc for Civ 3 ...

Dec 7, 2001 · How to uninstall Civilization III manually: Navigate to your installation. The default is C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III Delete the Civilization III folder. Say "yes" when it asks if you are sure you want to delete. Yes, we know it may affect registered programs.

Feb 7, 2010 · a) Open the conquests.ini file located in your main Civilization III\Conquests folder. Set BarbarianActivity=-1 and ActualBarbarianActivity=-1 and then save. Proceed down to Step 4. OR b) Start Civ III normally and choose the 'New Game' option. Set up the game any way you like, but make sure you set Barbarian Activity to 'No Barbarians'.
