Mar 31, 2006 · OK, I know everyone loves kibitzing about planes. What say ye about the 414 vs 421. OMG --- geared engines on the 421. Lots of naysaying. What's the big deal? Gentle power reductions and increases should do the trick. What are the operating issues with the GTSIOs? Of course the OH comes with...

Mar 17, 2010 · Fractional - Cessna 421 - Ditto to all that has been said. Our company's luck with engines was not as good as the other folks that have replied. We were happy getting 80-90% of TBO while replacing fewer than half the jugs. The reason: our mission demanded we drive the engines hard (at or near max charted power) and our
Why should I not buy a Cessna 421.?? | Pilots of America
Jun 13, 2014 · I think the 421 and other similar planes have a niche market, mainly privately owned low use. When you start trying to run frequent, semi-scheduled flights it may not be the way to go due to downtime with needed maintenance and unforeseen problems.

May 6, 2009 · I flew a 421 C, a 1980 model with the trailing link landing gear. HITS: Passengers: Passengers loved it. The props turned at a quiet 1800 RPM in cruise. Cessna 421 - "Twin Cessna" or "Golden Eagle"? - Pilots of America
Jan 12, 2011 · A 421 is a Golden Eagle, which is a name I don't like. Now, the original 414, as opposed to the 414A, didn't have a name - so calling it a Twin Cessna would be appropriate. Of course, everyone calls it a Chancellor anyway.
