Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) is a major tau kinase that is involved in abnormal phosphorylation in AD brains (Imahori and Uchida, 1997; Cruz and Tsai, 2004; Engmann and Giese, 2009). Here, we summarize the phosphorylation of tau by Cdk5.
