Nov 8, 2011 · The trucks that I tried to connect with cat ET are Freightliners and Foden, and they have 6-pin plugs which should be the J1708 data link. This data link has oly 4 wires attached which should be 2-power and 2-communication. However I have not done a detailed check on pinouts, I will check Ecm pinouts to verify.

Anyways here's my take it is expensive to buy the et from cat but if you have enough trucks it will pay for itself. The Chinese copies I haven't dot with personally but I wouldn't risk its chances are there is a virus in it some where.

Check the resistance on each solenoid with the injector wire removed this will only tell you if the solenoid has an open.Start truck up with one solenoid disconnected listen for change in rpm also this will generate codes that need to be cleared by ET!

Oct 22, 2010 · swap it out. the fuel mm is the calculated fuel millimeters delivered to the injectors. During the cut out test. it uses fuel mm, engine speed and load and calculates the amount to maintain engine speed while performing the test. they shouldn't vary +- .2. my book has a better explanation for the process. jst got to find it lol

Mar 15, 2012 · You can get ET cheaper than you can through CAT. Just google it. Unless you have a fleet all you'll need is the adaptor for your truck that will go to your adaptor. From the adaptor you go to a serial port...we go to a USB instead. Yes it will work on most any laptop. We have three different adaptors for our trucks. But cover most of them.
