Jul 21, 2012 · The concept is Vahana puja, ie, you treat the vehicle as a carrier of the deity. The deity is invoked, and the vehicle is offered to him/her. The subsequent puja is to the invoked deity, NOT to the vehicle directly.

Why not do a small puja yourself at home? It’s free. Do the purifications of the vehicle as you would any offering, offer it to the deity as a vahana , do the arati , offer some sweets, you’re done.

Jun 14, 2023 · Just go to a local temple with sweets and coconut. The pandit(s) will do the pooja right there. Usually they don't charge anything but give out some "dakshina" based on what you can/want.

The reason for having different rules is because of how other states choose to operate. Many rural states don’t want to make it prohibitively expensive to own a car because they are so necessary in rural areas. California already de facto sets emissions standards because car manufacturers won’t make cars that can’t be sold in California.
