Nov 18, 2011 · I was planning to purchase a bridge camera, either Canon Powershot SX40 HS or the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150 but still not completely sure which one to get. I'm leaning toward the Lumix because of reviews, but both seem to be great. But I would like some input from others before spending $400ish.

My question is what lenses can I add? Someone suggested I should fit a 'spacer' and try a Canon lens, as they are a bit less expensive, and how can I tell if there is a spacer already fitted ?

Oct 13, 2006 · The Canon lens consistently ranks above Nikon micro lens in the MTF chart. Could it be that the Nikon lens is made in China whereas the Canon 100mm L macro lens is made in Japan. I hate to to believe that but could the quality of Nikon lens be inferior, relatively speaking, because of Chinese manufacturing.

I haven't entirely dismissed the idea going the Sony, or perhaps even the Olympus route. I'm not 100% against Canon, but having always been a Nikon guy, I just can't see myself going the Canon route.

Jul 8, 2011 · I went from a full Canon DSLR (Canon 5D and 1DmarkII) and replaced it with a micro 4/3 system (G1, E-PL1, OMD EM5) when I decided I no longer required the weight. I still shoot with my LX3 occasionally but I'd say the image quality from micro 4/3 is noticeably better; competing with the mid to lower tiered APS DSLRs.
