We are a residential self-catering camp in North Otago. Set inland from Herbert among rolling farmland, a peaceful DOC reserve, and a stone’s throw away from the Waianakarua River, Camp Iona is the perfect place to settle down and enjoy the tranquil setting and outdoors.

We are a residential self catering camp providing basic sleeping accommodation in cabins and shared communal facilities of toilets, showers, kitchen and dining room space. The Camp Iona Charitable Trust’s goal is to encourage the use of the camp for community, church, family and educational group activities at an affordable cost.

Camp Iona is set on 2.2ha, with areas of flat to sloping lawns and a sealed area in front of the hall. On one side is a confidence course set amongst native bush. You will discover a large stainless steel slide here too.

This is a smaller carpeted hall situated at the far end of Camp Iona. It has a smaller modern kitchen, which can be used for groups of up to 40 campers in conjunction with cabins 7 & 8 and 9. The hall has a large heat pump and is equipped with tables and chairs.
