The TL 1 is a monumental from-the-ground-up design effort. C.E.C. makes virtually everything inside the TL 1, from the chassis down to the spindle shaft and bearings.

Top-loading CD transport w. ceramic stabilizing disc, AES/EBU, RCA & AT&T fiber optic digital outputs. This is about the 'newer' version of the C.E.C. TL-1, the TL-1X. The '1X now retails. for $5650. US, but I snagged this 1-year-old dealer demo unit for much less.

In stock form, the TL-1X is already considered by some to be one of the very the best transports ever made, but this one is even better: it has been rebuilt/refreshed as described below, and has a custom built true hydrodynamic bearing (see below for details).

At $4650, the TL 1 costs more than the PDT 3, but is significantly less expensive than the No.31. Digital interconnects included C.E.C.'s supplied coaxial cable, an Aural Symphonics Digital Standard coaxial cable, and an AudioQuest Optical Pro 2 ST-type.

The CEC was compared to Theta Universal transport (my bass reference) and to Sony CDP-xa5es - my overall transport reference. The CEC trashes the Theta in the bass, and in all other departments as well.

Aug 18, 2008 · CEC TL-1x. When you switch from the Marant to the CEC you’re first surprised that it’s got a comparable presentation, but then you start noticing smaller but important differences. The CEC is even more fluid, lusher and a lot more spacious than the Marantz. The sound is fuller and more fluid.

Pourquoi ne te tournes-tu pas vers une TL-51 X? C'est une excellente machine. Pour avoir pris une TL2x de 1998 après une TL51 de 2002, je ne te conseille pas la TL2x surtout à ce tarif. J'ai payé la mienne 1200e (4ans en tbe + garantie un an sur pièces par Hifi 35).
