Jun 12, 2023 · Long Story short I just purchased a Surface Pro 9 to use as a work computer. (Found a good deal). I am in the military and need a CAC Card Reader to access different websites for work. I have downloaded the drivers and updated the Firmware for my CAC Card Reader but not been able to log on to the websites I need to.

Jun 24, 2024 · I was just using my Identiv SCR3500C Smart Card reader to access secure files for work. Out of nowhere, my CAC reader suddenly stopped working. The issue will state "No Client Certificate presented". Basically it doesn't seem like the smart card reader wants to engage when it should be doing so when accessing secure sites.

Nov 28, 2024 · Windows 10/11 already include some support for PIV. Plug in your smart card reader, and Windows should automatically detect and install a generic driver. If it is not working then Open PowerShell as an administrator by clicking Win + S - search for PowerShell - Right click on it and click on Run as administrator . Run below commands

Nov 20, 2024 · Yes we can still sign in, to the computer but it no longer detects the card reader. We can do everything as normal but once we get to where we need to select a certificate from the CAC card it can't see the card reader to read the certificates so we can pick the certificate we need to access the website we are navigating to.

Nov 6, 2019 · I'm in the military and use a CAC CARD reader to access websites. After a recent windows update, my computer no longer detects my CAC CARD. The card reader is fine, but the card itself isn't detecting. I REPEAT, the card reader is fine. (Also, its NOT an SD card. Its a CAC card. On an other post here, a fix was suggested for an SD card.

Jul 17, 2024 · Common Access Card (CAC) not being detected by Microsoft computer (Windows 11) I was able to use the CAC to log into DOD sites this morning and now it has stopped being recognized. Google security picks up the CAC and certificates but not Microsoft.

Jan 14, 2018 · I have been reading through a lot subject on getting your on getting your CAC card to work on your computer and have followed everyone's advice, however my computer still doesn't recognize my CAC card when I put it in the reader. I have downloaded the smart card manager and it says there are no smart cards detected.

Sep 4, 2024 · I bought the new pro 11 with the Arm processor and I am unable to access my Military work sites using my Military CAC card and I've never had this issue on any of my other windows computers. When I try to login with my CAC card the box for certificate selection does not even come up. Thanks for the help.

Oct 10, 2014 · I just wanted to add a little tip for others who may be having issues with their CAC cards or CAC readers. I was able to install 'Smart Card Manager-1.0.1-6-1' and now my works well. Of course it isn't the default built in Windows CAC program that recognizes and authorizes it.
